The visit program was packed with activity: the participants learned the fundamentals of the plant's operation and explored future career prospects, tested the capabilities of a full-scale unit control room simulator, and visited the personnel radiation contamination monitoring facility. On the industrial site, they inspected a modern 330 kV gas-insulated switchgear and toured the turbine hall of power unit No. 2.
An important part of the trip was a meeting with the facility’s management, during which the students were able to ask questions about the specifics of operating a nuclear power plant and the development of Ostrovets region.
Such events play a key role in career guidance: they offer an inside look at high-tech manufacturing, inspire young people to pursue engineering professions, and help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the real-world challenges of the modern energy sector.
