The heavy-duty truck BELAZ 79212, with a lifting capacity of 150 tons, will be used to transport nuclear fuel in a transport packaging container across the territory of the nuclear power plant.
The machine is equipped with a new Russian-made engine with a capacity of 312 kW and an electronic control unit. The maximum speed of the heavy-duty vehicle with cargo is 8 km/h. Without cargo – 15 km/h. The heavy-duty vehicle is equipped with two cabins with two-post control, located at the front and rear of the chassis. This feature enables the machine to move according to the shuttle principle. When changing the direction of movement, the operator simply moves from one cabin to another. The heavy-duty vehicle also has the ability to turn around. The struts of five of the seven rows of wheels are swivel, which enables the vehicle to turn around in a very limited area.
The design is based on 14 wheel modules with 28 solid, highly elastic tires with an increased service life.
The heavy-duty vehicle is equipped with modern braking systems, automatic lubrication, two-component automatic fire extinguishing, and all-round video surveillance with additional cameras.
