The event was opened by Boris Paramonov, Deputy Director General for General Affairs at Belarusian NPP. In his opening remarks, Boris Paramonov briefly outlined the history of the events of September 17, 1939, and highlighted their role and significance for the modern history of the Republic of Belarus.
Pavel Meleshko, Deputy Chairman of the Ostrovets District Executive Committee, continued the discussion, describing the unity of Belarusian lands as one of the most significant historical events for our people and the foundation of a free, strong, and prosperous Belarus.
In his speech, the head of Ostrovets Regional Emergency Situations Department, Andrey Babichev, focused on the situation with fires and their consequences in the region. In connection with the mushroom picking season, Andrei Babichev reminded the event participants of the main rules of behavior in the forest, and also called for more active use of fire detectors in everyday life.
Nikolai Karpenko, Head of the Reliability and Safety Analysis Department at Belarusian NPP, devoted his presentation to key issues regarding safety tandards.
During the final part of the event, participants asked the speakers questions and received detailed, knowledgeable answers.
